DMS 20503 - Principles of General Sonography An introduction to the profession of Diagnostic Medical Sonography as well as to the clinical setting that is a large portion of the curriculum during subsequent terms. Topics such as the history of ultrasound, scope of practice, Professional Code of Ethics, acoustic terminology, physician and patient interaction, and equipment operation will be discussed. In the clinical setting, students will function under close supervision of qualified sonographers.
