EDU 47803 - Math Methods


A course focusing on teaching mathematics from age three to grade five with emphasis placed on state and national curriculum standards, educational resources, developmentally and culturally appropriate practice, intervention techniques/strategies, technology, assessment, and evaluation. Students will share ideas in small groups and in whole-class situations providing opportunity to share ideas and practice the use of manipulatives in authentic learning environments. A fifteen-hour field experience is required in this course in an appropriate classroom setting which may include observation, tutoring and teaching in whole-class settings.
