EMS 10105 - EMT Basic Theory and Current Trends in EMS


This EMT-B course is based on guidelines set by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). The curriculum prepares students to take the appropriate national registry exam and become certified both in Ohio and nationally. Students will learn the role of the EMT-B, the EMS system, safety and wellbeing, legal and ethical issues, basic anatomy and physiology, techniques of safe lifting and moving of patients, airway management, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, infants and children, ambulance operations, multiple casualty incidents and hazardous materials incidents.
