HPE 16203 - Nutrition This course is a study of the utilization of food for the body, food as a source of energy, and the nutrients required for life processes. Emphasis will be placed on identifying the composition of foods and the effect of foods on growth and maintenance of good health. Students are required to keep a daily food diary to heighten their awareness of their eating habits. The students will be able to identify nutrients through reading food labels and be able to use the food pyramid to plan healthy meals.
