NUR 30304 - Concepts of Professional Nursing


This transition course focuses on an introduction to the Philosophy and Conceptual Framework of the University of Rio Grande-Holzer School of Nursing, the health care delivery system, and the clinical decision-making process (nursing process). Emphasis is placed on transition to the professional nursing role in caring for self, individuals, families, groups, and communities. An introduction to nursing theorists, philosophies, theories, and frameworks is also presented.

Note: Students may not enroll in this course prior to receiving RN licensure and/or official acceptance into the RN-BSN program.

Offered: Fall, Spring

Semester Hours: 4
Prerequisite(s): Official acceptance into the RN-BSN Program. Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved pre-licensure R.N. associate degree or diploma program in nursing. Active and valid RN license (Ohio or state of residence).
