AHC 10403 - EKG Technician This course is an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the cardiac cycle and the electrical system of the heart. The student will learn how to calculate heart rate, identify normal sinus rhythms, and arrhythmias. The student will also learn about the 3, 5, and 12 lead EKG. Additionally, the student will learn how to prepare the patient, apply electrodes, and respond to signs and symptoms of cardiopulmonary compromise. HIPAA regulations and the obtainment of vital signs will be introduced.
