ESL 13103 - High Intermediate Integrated Skills in English This is a high-intermediate English course for nonnative speakers of English. It focuses on reading, writing, listening, speaking and critical thinking skills. In this course students practice more complex reading and writing strategies to help them understand more complex and longer academic texts and write summaries, reactions, and essays with and without research. They also listen to videos and other aural materials about varied topics; they discuss these topics and make presentations about varied topics. As they practice these skills, they engage in critical thinking such as distinguishing facts from opinions, interpreting academic texts, and synthesizing information from multiple sources.

Semester Hours: 3 Prerequisite(s): ESL 12103 with a grade of B or better or placement by ESL Director. Concurrent: Concurrent with ESL 21102 - Academic Studies
