NUR 48801-03 - Selected Topics in Nursing (DEI) A study of topics not included in current nursing course offerings or topics of more in-depth study than covered in current nursing courses. Diversity, equity, and inclusion Emphasize understanding of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations and recognize the potential health disparities experienced within these groups. The course includes studying cultural groups and their interrelationships relative to health and illness. Human diversity will be identified through a spectrum of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, physical ability, and/or social class, with an emphasis on the analysis of equity. Students will apply and evaluate approaches or modes of inquiry used to analyze diversity and equity and the social barriers to these goals. Topic selected by the Director of Nursing/Professor of the course.

Semester Hours: 1-3 Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the RN-BSN program. Active and valid RN license (Ohio or state of residence). Active and valid RN license (Ohio or state of residence) and NUR 30304 - Concepts of Professional Nursing with grade “C” or better.
